CONNECTING THE DOTS

Futurist predictions are part science and part art. A combination of intellect and visioning processes, collaborative brainstorming techniques, and disciplined research, futurists peer into what does not exist today by connecting the dots across a width swath of terrain from economics to humanities.

One of the more interesting "dots" in Innovation in a Reinvented World (IIRW) came within days of the book's publication by John Wiley & Sons on September 11, 2011. The introductory chapter in IIRW references the frustration of U.S. voters in 2010 and the unrest around the world, reminding U.S. readers that our own revolution wasn’t that long ago. The first Occupy protest to receive widespread attention occurred in New York City's Zuccotti Park--Wall Street Occupy—on September 17, September 2011.
